Hello again, Adelaide!

I've been missing Adelaide many times. Sometimes, unjustifiable. Because I can't remember what I'm actually missing. Is it the quiet suburbs, the empty church, the shops that close early. I can't tell. Probably the suburbs and the fact that my public bus stops right where I live. Or the small gatherings my Malaysian friends and I would always have. This time, I came back to Adelaide as a working young adult, not without its complications in hindsight (the beginning of Coronavirus) with just a little bit more money to spend on and possibly a better perspective in life. Lol, maybe. I came a few hours earlier, YY came later from Melbourne. We stayed at the Mercure Grosvenor , great location and overlooked a courtyard with very friendly staffs. I had plans to meet Beth whom I haven't met and caught up in at least 13 years and Carmen about 11 years too. Carmen stayed back in Australia after university, visited Melbourne for a while until she came back again...

This weekend will be all about rest

My housemate wants to house arrest me this weekend. They told me that contrary to normal practice, I maximize/optimize my weekend the most. Not once have they actually saw me sleeping in on Saturdays and Sundays and this particularly scares them. First of all, they're exaggerating. But to a certain extend their point is, weekends are the worst for me. Been having lack of sleep these couple of weekends and what happens now is that I'm sick. Been sniffling, sneezing and coughing like one pathetic cat. Brought germs to office now SaraKhoo is getting it :( Anyway, here are some of the things that I did last weekend though I don't have pictures of me with my family when they came down ; This wasn't last week, but two weeks before my best friends from KK came down to KL. It was so much fun hanging out with them. So many things to catch up though. Regardless, I'm glad we went out to lepak ;) L-R : Stephie, Ann Marie, Jessy & Ingrid Ah kent! Audrey! There were supposed ...

New toys!

That said, yesterday was a full-day event. It was the largest bloggers gathering in one event for Gatsby Deodorant Street Fair. Helped quite a fair-bit, when I reached home I was feeling rather... okay. But not the next day. Woke up with an orchestra of cracks on my body. Terrible, terrible feeling :'( Sunday is officially my favourite day of the week. Most of the time spent indoor, with some awesome people in the world, not only do I feel the fattest on Sundays, I feel the laziest as well. It's like, the perfect combination for a lazy Sunday. Anyone is welcome to my place on Sundays :) I have a couple of new toys as additions to my ever so funky room. Both which I bought/ brought from Aussie. Meet Travisa . That purplish pink pony which I manage to bring (as big as me when I'm crawling possibly) all the way from Adelaide. I remember Justin being so annoyed at me naming all things Travis, haha. I don't knowlah, Travis is such a cute pet name. Grew up with it since I was...

Cheers to,

Not to all the money in the world, nor to the awesome lifestyle we rock too well. But to happy days. Happy days, when everything doesn't have to fall into places yet a smile is sincerely carved on your face. Sometimes happyness is just about everything a soul needs. Cheers! to Happy Days! Love & peace, Jacqueline Rowena @ Jacqkie.

Thanks boys!

Hello you :) Finally able to take a breather from a busy hectic month. Some of the girls are back in Malaysia, and is already slowly settling down. It's not easy to pick up where we left especially with our closest friends and loved ones, things are just not the same. We don't share the same jokes, nor know the same circles anymore, keeping up with new things in each other's life is like starting all over. But, I guess I'm ready. I have to. I've gotten fairly close to some of the boys I just met here in Adelaide. Note the word, just. In a way I'm glad we've only gotten to know each other just recently, like I told Jifai and Amai leaving the party when it's just getting started probably has the most impact on you. True enough the girls wailed like babies on their day of departure. Fact is, it's not about just being separated. It's about not knowing when days like these could ever happen again, never knowing. The bond we have with these boys is jus...

Meteor Shower

Not entirely blue sky, clouds rush in, whistles of wind everywhere, drizzle. Nicer temperature as compared to two nights before. It was stuffy, wet and sticky. People usually relate to how they're feeling at that moment with the weather, something I have adopted ever since I came here. Used to refuse to feeling blue during heavy pour, but somehow, in someway I crash on my balcony couch with a lot of thinking when it's all cloudy. Nothing negative, usually reflective, but it must be the weather, I thought. I told you the weather can be a conversation on it's own. It's that volatile. I took this photo for the irony of wearing sweater on a very hot / sunny day. Stillness in times of change. You've probably read my status on witnessing a meteor shower. I swear, it was one of the biggest highlight in my life. In fact, I can scrap it off from my to do-list before I die. When they messaged me that there was going to be a meteor shower, I didn't expect anything, nothing...

Life is,

Tequila Sunrise + Stilettos + Human Drawing + Scintillating conversations = a soon-to-be 21year old who refuses to grow up :) Hugs & Kisses, Jacqueline Rowena @ Jacqkie.

Selamat Hari Raya from Adelaide

Hello you! Spring Break is finally here, and when it's here, there's nothing much to do. Everything here closes by evening, no such thing as Mamak or Kopitiam that actually is cheap, and opens till 'late. Pfft. Luckily enough, the girls and I are going Sydney next Thursday, and OMG that screams shopping!! No seriously, I am planning to shop. Not the kind that would excess the card but the kind that would make a girl - happy enough *grins*. Plus, I haven't been to Sydney before and I'm purrrttyy excited to enjoy one of the happiest city in the world. The other day when we went to picnic, I brought my bubbles and my oh my did I fell in love with bubbles. It was so addictive. The only problem was... I look terrible in photos whenever I blow them. This shot below is probably the nicest, but as you can still seeeee, I look so stressed. God knows what was I thinking when I'm playing bubbles. Argh. Yesterday we had Karaoke for Audrey's birthday, and I think everyon...

I miss you

It's 04.15 AM, it's cold, and it's lonesome. I miss knowing breakfast is with you, I just miss you. You're my Carl & I'm your Ellie. Hugs & Kisses, Jacqueline Rowena @ Jacqkie.

Spring is here!

After almost a month or so waiting, Spring is finally here! Snowy, Rubee and Mas invited us along for a picnic in Botanical Garden near the city and it was bliss! The weather was gorgeous, sun, wind, and ducks combined is recipe for such beautiful day. Here are the pictures taken from Rubee's and Yuen's camera. Well, they both have DSLRs or SLRs or something like that, I'm not too sure, but their pictures are definitely way nicer :) There were quite a number of people having picnics as well, and it was so sweet to see family birthdays and weddings being held on that beautiful sunny day. Oh not to mention, the day before that when we were out in the city, when I saw a couple of Chinese dudes buying flipflops - I just couldn't wait to wear mine as well! Nyehehe :) Here's the three of us playing with bubbles :) The rest playing Ice, Water, Fire while I was playing bubbles! It was funny to see bunch of A-dults running around! After the picnic, half of the group went for...

Royal Adelaide Show 2009

OMG I was halfway blogging and then I accidentally pressed UniSA Helpdesk. Argh! Anyway, let me try to regain my excitement of blogging about the carnival again. Pfft. I've been pretty occupied these days with all the pub-crawling, carnival, and loads of gathetrings in between, thankfully the assignments are pretty okay so far, SO FAR. I'm still dreading the lengthy essays that will kill me soon. Anyhoo, a group of us went to the Royal Adelaide Show last Sunday and it was heaps fun. I think we all went completely nuts that day, we all became so greedy and sugar-high or something. Unlike my usual posts, I will insert the texts in between the pictures. More pictures on Facebook :) Powder pucker. I didn't buy it though, I just thought it was a cool concept. Sucking powders! Some happy kid As soon as we reached the carnival we went straight to this exhibition/ convention centre with loads of flowers and other stuffs. They were even some models parading flowers on thei...
