I will be honest. I want to be remembered as the aunty who is always in her maroon felt holiday hat, loose white blouse, strange patterned midi skirt, pink or full cheeks with muchies and round glasses, woven shoes -- ready to check into another obscure destination or resort. Offline or online.
This time The Daun Resort at Langkawi.
I met with some colleagues who were working in Langkawi and some friends who were there for a wedding over the Malaysia Day weekend, but I also wanted to have a space of my own. It was kind of an early birthday present, since I will be traveling with mum and Jessy for the birthday week. It's not that I don't see that as a celebration, but it's becoming a ritual to travel on my own.
A time to reflect the year, the decade maybe even. To weigh in what has become of me, or what have not.
Which reminds me, any suggestion of where to go next?
The Daun Resort range from RM 200+ per night with a simple asian and continental buffet breakfast. It had eggs, bread, juice, milk and even savoury stuff. It's actually about 5 minutes drive to Pantai Cenang which most of the watersports and beach bars are. With Grab, it's just literally from RM 4 only.
My room was facing the paddy field/ swamp? I reckon, which I enjoyed every minute of. I hear loud splashing sounds all the time, and I can only hope those were not giant reptiles or crocodiles 😅😅 I mean I am adventurous, but I am not always brave.
The Daun Resort isn't sponsoring me for this post, I have yet to get enough thousands nor likes to warrant that kind of treatment, but anything is good is always worth sharing. I also feel really good paying for my own vacation.
I especially liked the ladies that helped me during my stay. From providing me the iPhone cable charger to making my eggs the way I like them. Little hospitality truly comes a long way, and Langkawi has shown me so.
Consider Langkawi on your next trip.
Love,
Jacqueline Rowena @ Jacqkie.
