How Social Media united people

Before I share with you this case study,

Meet my friend Swee Wei;

I've known her for 5 years now, she is one of my sweetest best friend and all the times that we've been hanging out, she is mostly in her own world, she spaces out a lot, and occasionally out of randomnity she makes undecipherable orgasmic sounds with a soft tail towards it's end. Usually like, 'Ahh, ahh'...... uhhh' over complicated questions and situations. Right, I know it's very hard to imagine but you'll see what I mean..

A couple of day's back she messaged me via MSN that she's participating a contest organised by KLue to meet her idol Rain. I was like yeah sure, why not. Her standing likes at that time was at 30 Likes, her second competition with just about 6.

I wanted to show her support, because I know how she feels. No seriously, I went nuts when Jason Mraz was in town and the Meet and Greet Passes was all I could think of. My ears were glued to the radio from 7am -11PM, didn't eat, didn't sleep - I could barely think of anything. As a result from the madness? I won 6 concert tickets overall. But you see, people will not understand fanatics like us. The concert tickets are almost worthless - cause all we fanatics want in our life is to Meet and Greet the star - that my dear friend (my virgin-fanatic concert friends) is the thing you NEED and are not for sell. NOT FOR SELL. You know what that means?! You'd have to fight till death.

So I Liked this picture, which is also her contest entry;

After 3 hours, I went and check it out only to find out that the second entry was slowly picking up it's pace. And I went ALL crazy.

That's it, I was like... IT'S ON BITCHES.

I started asking my colleagues to like it, asked their friends, my sister's friends, friends of other friends. My boyfriend started asking his friends, his colleagues everyone else to Like it. That was the first time, I've seen so many people in Facebook NewsFeed, totally unrelated to each other, not knowing anyone else except for the bunch in their circle to unite in helping her to win the Meet and Greet passes.

It was a neck to neck race, it was so intense I swear everyone else who liked her were beginning to feel the pressure. Everyone started showing concerns, it was as if it was everyone's race now! To be frank, hers' was the most creative so it truly deserved the prize.

You can't imagine the amount of likes that surged up after everyone started helping her. Everyone started sharing on their profiles, it started appearing on almost all of our newsfeed cause it has garnered so much attention! So much Likes, so much Shares! Even I have never seen my boyfriend that intense before! He was asking every Tom, Dick and Harry from his Facebook to help her. You know why? Because she's a sweetheart and this is a living proof of how much support you'll get if you are just, well kind and nice in life.

You know how a lot would quote on "She's the sweetest person you'll ever meet". I never understood that saying, until I met her, held her close when we're out together, hanging out in my house in PJ (or when I sleep when she's talking about things), basically know her as a person.

The contest ended at 5pm, and right before the 5pm mark the competition was just about a matter of a few likes. It was intense. Everyone felt it. I mean, by God, I didn't even like Rain, but I was stressing so much over that more than anything and I knew no one who was more well deserving to get this but her. And so did everyone.

And in the end...

SHE WON!!!!

So she made a video to thank all the people who has helped her in spreading the news. Remember the orgasmic sounds she makes that I was talking about? Yeah, you can watch her do it for like 8minutes here. Oh please watch everything, I swear it will make you day :)

Love & peace,
Jacqueline Rowena @ Jacqkie.

Pulau Sapi @ Tunku Abdul Rahman Parks

Before I proceed to my write up on Pulau Sapi, let me do the duty to carefully explain to you why there are so many people talking about so many islands at the mention of the word, Sabah. Reason why I'm doing so is because whenever people visit KK City, they have very limited time in exploring most of the natural gorgeous attractions, and sometimes ended up just moving around KK City. And when one does that, people would usually end up asking, why are there so many mentions of islands when we get to experience none?  As you can see from the previous Matthew Paul map below; Sabah is situated close to top north of the Borneo Island. That said, it's a privilege to say that tons of islands are under the local towns and cities surrounding the shores of this particular part of Borneo island. From Sipitang (look out from South left), imagine yourself  "walking" from the Sipitang's shore / beach walk up slowly to Menumbuk, Kuala Penyu, Pulau Tiga, Kota Kinabalu, Tun

Pulau Mantanani // Mantanani Island

I started off my 10 day break with a day trip to Mantanani. I wanted to visit Mantanani for THE LONGEST TIME, but couldn’t get around doing so all these while, either I haven’t saved up enough or basically, just haven’t got the weekends to spare it with.   Some folks call it the mermaid island because of the dugong sightings underwater – which is seriously magical. Some folks even say you could catch a glimpse of dolphins. They’ve had photos with it, but I personally have never seen them before.  Ladies and gentlemen, I would like to share with you why this trip was important.    If you see the map above, I’ve yellow squared Mantanani Island in comparison to the journey from Kota Kinabalu. If you’re not a map kind of person, that is --- quite far. Not Sipadan (Tawau, Sandakan, Lahad Datu kind of far) but far enough to be a put off to some locals at times. Previously, you’d have to drive up north for approximately 1.5 hours, or take a bus to Kota Belud, to
