We've all seen and loved The Devil Wears Prada - the (supposedly) epitome of what fashion industry is all about, being skinny, fabulous and speaks Prada. Contrary to popular belief, fashion and the people behind the leading fashion industry is almost nothing like the people you see in the movies, or in that particular movie. The ladies and I went for The September Issu e last night, a documentary that revolves around Anna Wintour the Editor-In-Chief of Vogue for 20years, one of the most influential woman in the fashion industry ever, and of course the ultimate inspiration behind the Devil Wears Prada. Throughout the documentary you'll get to discover that Anna Wintour's famous silent stare - is deadly but precious simply because she makes most of the decision in fashion. Elizabeth Gilbert the author of Eat, Pray, Love was featured in Oprah a couple of weeks back talking about the book; and she suggested to all the lost souls out there to try jotting down their best moments of the day every night before they sleep. So I tried, and discovered this practice is more effective than I thought it would be, you know people being selective of their best moments and all. But, I was impartial throughout the flash-backs and here's what I wrote (without dates just to compare which are the ones I loved the most): 1. Kissing Daren & playing/ being tickled by him 2. I don't know about you guys, but I prefer Critic's Choice Awards over everything else - anyday. I prefer the former because I believe the critics have always eloquently written down their reasons, expressions of movies to the readers. I find reading movie reviews, critics and commentaries easy to relate to and most importantly, makes things easier to expect. Minus the exception that some reviewers can be totally biased of their favourite writers or even directors. Boo them. Just this year I developed a big crush on watching/reading Critic's Choice Awards (partly because I have absolutely nothing to do at home), so I Youtubed, and Googled this Award to find out whose who - won the Awards. I'm currently awaiting the latest movie by David Fincher; The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. I don't think it would be good to watch it in the cinemas since they censore almost everything. I've checked the reviews for this movie and 5/5 used so many words I never knew existed which only mean one thing; bravo . Rumour has it that this could be Brad Pitt's shot at Oscar for his remarkable daunting act. He has been a believable good actor so far, so I'm pretty excited to be a part of this 3 hour movie to witness what they say 'phenomenal'. I personally think this movie as a whole defines the word ironic perfectly. the characters in general have problems either with racial discrimination or related to the issue. may it be the fact that they are accepted or not, they are somehow connected to one another. from the title itself it's pretty obvious to know what movie i watched today. it was blood diamond of course. if there is one word to describe this movie it would be. SCARY. i think the two hours watching the movie was probably the most violence i've ever watch on screen in my entire life. it was extremely scary and very sad. to know that there was such thing happened in this world, and the sadder part is, in some parts of the world this thing is still going on.
