Borneo International Marathon Weekend

I have too many photos I have no idea what to do with. But because I don't trust Facebook (I don't know why), so they're mostly shared on my blog :) These were taken on the Borneo International Marathon Weekend where a lot of my friends were in town. I don't usually go out as much but that weekend called for gatherings!  ^One of the beautiful evening I went for a jog.  ^The view of Borneo International Marathon. Right before the sun almost killed me. ^One of my favourite evening. Catching the sunset at Sunset Bar Tanjung Aru with music as background  ^Real people with real life ^What I have been busy with  Love, Jacqueline Rowena @ Jacqkie.

Quick Updates

It's that round of updates again. I'll start off with FMFA. I was meant to go to FMFA for the weekend, but the event got cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances . So we skidded to an ice cream parlour to catch up over the remaining time I had left over there. And then there's Chris' farewell. I rarely talk about this dude because he just seems like a permanent parcel in my life like.. the box of stationeries on my table desk, or like my mum (cripes), it always seems like he's always there (in my case literally) because we hang out ALL the time so when he finally he decided to embark on the next journey back home -- it seems surreal that he's finally leaving all of us. I think it's been 3 years since we've met, and we always seem to have great discussion discussing about earth, the heaven and everything in between. And also 3 years since #yolo. Dude, we will always be here. I don't know about the rest, but I'm practically planted here i...

Gaya Street Market, KK (Sundays)

My family's Sunday's traditions would be getting up real early, maybe around 7 - 8am in the morning, have some breakfast and pay Gaya Street a visit. It has been like that since we were kids - until today. Almost kind of feel like there's something amiss if we don't just (at least) glance through Gaya Street on Sundays. Gaya Street Market is only open on Sundays . So what's in Gaya Street Market? Probably only the randomest stuff in the city. How to get there?  It being right smack in the city, makes it easy for people or tourists to reach Gaya Street. You can opt to take buses (from all over wherever you are) and stop at Padang Terminal , cross the road and that's where you can start the walk for the market. The stretch goes right up just before Ipoh Old Town Kopitiam. It is about a half an hour of sightseeing for a side of the market, and maybe an hour or more if you make a turn and cover the next stretch (lined in red). It starts from 6.30am ...

Beach. Books. Networking. Nap.

This new life, however I felt and embrace is evidently different from the previous. I've met a couple of people that have taken the words right out of my mouth; that change is good. And it has. Change has been really good to me so far. So good, that I quite like this solo life of mine because I have some sort of control over it while still making the most out of things. Will update you on the changes of my life; I'm no longer in Media and I'm in now in the Hotel Industry.  Not quite the exact 180 Degree change as I am still in the Communications Department, but frankly, there are far more things required to learn when you're a baby in any industry. The basic hotel lingo, acronyms and structure. And in any new organizations, getting used to the organizational structure is by far the most important, and blending, humbling in is key. Expertise alone will eat you alive, as people don't like to work with people who are not willing enough. So a lot of the things in ...

Dear "time",

It's been a while since I've actually sat down, breeze through and embrace you. I've just spent at least 3 hours cleaning my old, and new home alone. And now, I'm seated comfortably at one of my favourite spot, right under my house's only air-conditioner where it's blowing shyly at me while massive TV infront playing Grey's Anatomy. I hate this show. It speaks so much of what you've been thinking that it leaves me bawling over a sentence at times. A damn sentence. So fortunately, the past few weeks have been nothing but a blessing of absolute detachment from everything else and more so a discovery of all kinds of newness, thanks to you "time". It isn't easy to start all over again, especially when it comes to companionship. I've been away from home for 5 years now, while high school friends are always here, most of my close friends are half way around the world. Or at least hours flight away from me. That means, for now (just now) m...

How Social Media united people

Before I share with you this case study, Meet my friend Swee Wei; I've known her for 5 years now, she is one of my sweetest best friend and all the times that we've been hanging out, she is mostly in her own world, she spaces out a lot, and occasionally out of randomnity she makes undecipherable orgasmic sounds with a soft tail towards it's end. Usually like, 'Ahh, ahh'...... uhhh' over complicated questions and situations. Right, I know it's very hard to imagine but you'll see what I mean.. A couple of day's back she messaged me via MSN that she's participating a contest organised by KLue to meet her idol Rain. I was like yeah sure, why not. Her standing likes at that time was at 30 Likes, her second competition with just about 6. I wanted to show her support, because I know how she feels. No seriously, I went nuts when Jason Mraz was in town and the Meet and Greet Passes was all I could think of. My ears were glued to the radio from 7am...

I am a walking mismatch

It is so hard to force-vomit yourself with words and inspirations online, when you think there hasn't be anything interesting going on in your life... We all know that's bullshit. 'Cause there's always something interesting going on in my life - forgotten or unwritten. So I'll make it a practice to update "something" based on a picture I chose. Any picture, could be a picture of a cat lazily lying on the floor (I sure know how to relate to this), or maybe even a picture of a pair of flip-flops or even something so vintage it happened even before I was born, y'know. Anything. So today's picture is (as inspired by Yuen and Audrey's FB comments) ; That freakshow in tights would be me - if you were to ask me for an explanation of the things I wear everyday, you'd prolly hear cricket sounds, cause I have no sense in my dressing. Reasonings yes - some parts of my attire have a story of its's own and that is why they end up on me. Logical reas...
