Lihing Cocktail Party

A couple of weeks back, Chris invited me over to a "special" cocktail party.  It was going to be a local Lihing mixer party, a type of local alcohol brewed and made by locals ourselves. I have attended all kinds of cocktail parties, but this was the first of its kind. And honestly, lihing wasn't really a favourite, so to give this drink a chance alongside with a bunch of really great  company was something I figured should be SO cool! To start with, 'lihing' is a native produce of Sabah and some say they originated by the Kadazandusuns . They are made from fermented glutinous rice toppled and mixed with sugar and yeast. That makes lihing basically a rice wine.  I took one photo from that night, which I have loaded on Instagram. The remaining of the photos are from Sabby, thank heavens Sabby. I thought I should share this cocktail party idea, because this has turned lihing (which I have religiously refused previously), a delicious treat! The boys took charge...

Laneway Festival at Singapore 2011

LATEST UPDATE JANUARY 2014:  For some strange reason, the photos no longer appear on this post. I am uncertain what has happened to them, but I reckon it's a Blogger issue. For photos of this beautiful island, please check out my photos on Facebook HERE .  Dear friends, If you’re a massive indie music fan like me, and love free-spirited concerts; and if you had to choose to go to just one concert in a year (if you really have to). Laneway Festival is where your money should be at. The deets: January 29, Saturday at Fort Canning Park. Four simple reasons why: 1. It cost around 100SGD, about RM200 for a 10 hours concert. See that’s about RM20 for a set (up to 30 – 45 minutes depending on songs and solo pieces) when a one piece concert would usually have a set of just 45minutes, an hour tops (including intervals) to cost equally that much. If you really think about it, that’s a conjob. 2. It’s a bloody festival. That means eating fries and gulping down beer...

And everything in between a busy schedule

I know life never goes according to plan, and even though we try our very best to make sure some elements in our life should go according to plan, for some strange reason life has it’s own twists and turns. So here’s to the year's remains and... To planning my 2011! Mummy and Aunty Moun paid us a visit last week, and I’ve always been that kind of daughter who tries a little too hard when it comes to spending time with my family when they’re around. I spoiled my sister a little too much sometimes, but she makes it up to me by being very independent nowadays. She manages her own public transport, her own walkabouts. I’m proud J This time around when mummy told me she wanted to go Melaka, I jumped at the idea and said yes to it without considering other million and one things around me. I have always been busy with work, so I told her that I would make all the necessary arrangements, all these while prioritizing on spending time with my family. I even brought my laptop down Melaka,...

Halloween 2010 @ Ascott Apartment

Firstly, thank you for coming to the Ascott’s Halloween Party 2010 – it was crazy awesome. Secondly, I would like to credit Chung Wei and Yuen for the photos :) Thank you to those who are good sports and making this year’s an awesome one, memorable too I hope. *wink Unlike last year’s, I knew what I wanted to come as 2 months before the party. I was THAT excited. See the thing about being the organizer is that your costume has to be memorable. It doesn’t have to have the most effort put on, it just has to be a little bit more extravaganza than the rest. So this year, no matter how of a fat blob I thought I will look like I wanted to become ; When you’re working, it’s almost impossible to find the time to find the right outfit to be able to piece all of them together. It was either these 3 : 1. Lady Statue of Liberty 2. Wonderwoman - winner 3. Princess Fiona Shrek Party started around 9PM when Sara Khoo, Linda Khoo and Chung Wei started pouring in. Here’s Ricky – one of the n...
