One random Thursday night @ KL Journal

Sway and I were on Skype when we were talking about celebrating our birthdays together. Now that we're both working, I thought it was only cool that I booked a stay in one of the decent hotels in KL. And then we decided to make it a both of our thing. For our birthdays of course! We decided to choose between one of those 4 stars hotel that's right smack in town with buffet breakfasts 😋 So we booked KL Journal Hotel . It's only 5 minutes walk to Lot 10, you could see it from the hotel and about 10 minutes from Jalan Alor (food heaven) and Changkat (Pubs heaven?). It was also because we wanted to eat dinner at Joloko  the next day (which is right smack in KL city) that we decided to stay in KL city itself. KL Journal was a quirky, high rise, right next to the HSBC building downtown with the most vibrant swimming area. I say area because while the pool was fairly small, the drinks, bar and chill area were quite big. It could accommodate maybe up to 200 pax? and a...

Dinner at Joloko, Kuala Lumpur

Sway and I were talking about celebrating our birthdays together while I'm there (Libras rejoiceeee!), and naturally the first thing we did was, Google . Quite done with late nights, we just wanted to chill and eat. Joloko was one of the few restaurants that came up on the search (I forgot what I typed), and without sharing to Sway, days later Sway shared with me via Insta, on Joloko again. I was thinking of part dinner part celebration, since we barely catch up and we're earning now!! Turns out, it was a celebration of all sorts! New jobs, terrible dates, you know, the many things to celebrate as a modern woman these days. It turned out to be a little soiree. So. Much. Fun.  Before even anything, I publicly apologized to everyone for choosing a place right sm...

Back in KL

This Chinese New Year I came back to KL to catch a wedding I've RSVPed at least 6 months ahead (guilty conscience) and grabbed this chance to see the old team from Nuffnang. It's amazing how most have stuck through as friends, some turn best friends after all those years. The digital world has enabled us to keep in touch with each other, that even though we've been separated for so long, there are bits and pieces of our lives that we could still talked about. But first, the setup I helped to put up for my brother's engagement. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to attend because it was the same weekend I was in KL. (yes, yes family first, maybe he should've told me earlier too gargh :[ ) Yuen doesn't like to admit this, but she's a very kind girl :p  Yuen was kind enough to offer to pick me up from airport to hotel. She's such a sweetheart, and I'm forever indebted to her. This time around I stayed in the fancy Le Meridien Kuala Lumpur....
