Every year mum insists on participating one particular event. Just one.  It's the Walk Abreast organised by the Kinabalu Pink Ribbon and in awareness of Breast Cancer. My fourth year joining mum, and I've seen how this event has multiplied by leaps and bounds over the years. That 9th of August weekend was one of the more happening weekends I've had in quite sometime. Naturally, I don't have happening weekends. I just don't. A few friends had their engagements and wedding at the same weekend but not at the same place. Sister's 22nd Birthday  I couldn't celebrate with my family that Saturday because I had another engagement to attend to, so we celebrated her birthday the Friday night before at this fancy restaurant called Kudos at town. I got her a balloon bouquet and a tricky candle that relights after blowing. MUAHAHAHA. She kept blowing for a good 5 minutes only to realise that they were magic candles! Simple setting, but food was to die for! We needed an alone time for the four of us too, so it was just perfect. That was the fastest fine dining experience I've ever had. Nothing like a kick ass motor show to kick start your weekend! The Auto Traders Association of Sabah (ATAS) will be hosting their 6th ATAS Motor Show this weekend from 15th August - 17th August from 10am - 9pm at the Sabah Trade Centre in Likas. Entrance fee? FREE. This exhibition is the single biggest motor show in Sabah, so really, if you love all cars and motors, and are motor enthusiasts, you shouldn't miss this. I know a lot of Sabahans wouldn't, this is like their thing. There will be over 40 participants during this ATAS Motor Show this year offering special promotions to visitors during the event and other lucky draw activities. Daring exhibitors will get to try a chance to conquer the 30 feet high Isuzu giant ramp. Eclectic Ecstatic, a monthly event that aims to bring together the entire creative community in Kota Kinabalu made its return at El Centro last month for its second installation with the theme of ‘Art Heals’. One of the event’s main highlight was featuring the award-winning master piece from local naïve artist, Awang Fadilah (Jacqkie is a huge fan!!) and the Sabah Naïve Art Group. 50 over of their artworks which decorated the wall of El Centro added so much colours as well as creating unique visuals towards the event’s space. If you happen to love the artwork, you can purchase them as well because they are available for sale too.   On top of that, some of the Sabah’s top local acts came to show their support in which includes alternative-post rock band, Versatile; ukulele group, OrkesAkiuku; sister duo Alice Alive; and Jobless Giraffes featuring Scott Daryl Hadjiril from Diary of Us. What I really love besides TACKit and their friends' performances and/ or workmanship is also the fact that behind all these characters presented, they are the most amazing bunch of artists I have known after being back in KK for 2 years now. Spent the whole week indoor and sleeping really early the whole week of last week. I wanted to rejuvenate my body and made sure my weekend was freshened. I really disciplined myself. Lights off before 12am, proper meals and minor exercises and stuff.  So with what good week I had, last Sunday morning, when Morris told me that he’d pick me up at 9am I got up at 6.45am instead! I was well rested, energized and it felt like I could start the day as early as I could. We decided to spend our Sunday at a bamboo festival in Tamparuli. It's basically an event to celebrate the multipurpose use of the bamboo. Anyway, you guys can check out here for more information. My life flashed by my eyes last two Saturday night. I thought I was going to die. No seriously. ...that’s how insane the mosh was for Incubus. It was awesome.  Grew up picking up on big brother’s taste in music, and one of them was Incubus, because he was playing their music everyday from morning till evening. Hated it at first, but it slowly grew on me. Next thing you know, I Kazaa ’d them everyday after school. And that was about 10 years ago.  Then they came to KL for the first time ever in 2004, and in Sunburst 2008, and word of mouth said it was all kinds of glory. Their music has always been one that would fit all kinds of emotions, love, sad, lonely, spiritual. So I HAD to witness them live. I mean, I had their lyrics through my teeth as I was growing up. I am a huge fan. I love their songs, all not attributed to which albums because they were downloaded so I never knew which albums the songs were from until just recently when I decided to catch them live :(  ...
